What are your costs?

£40 per session

I also offer a discounted rate of £30 to persons on low income or students. Please ask at the time of booking your appointment.

 

Are you a professional counsellor?

I am a fully qualified, registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. (BACP) I abide by their ethical framework and am fully insured.

 

What happens on my first visit?

We will discuss your reasons for thinking about counselling, and explore how counselling could help you. You will have time to talk about how you are feeling.

 

Are there any stairs to climb? I am slightly disabled

How many consultations will I need?

This depends on how many you feel you need. Many people benefit from 6-8 sessions, and others come for many months. Most people come until they feel ready to continue without counselling. Some people come back to counselling when they experience a life changing event, changes in relationships or confusing emotions.

 

Do you have parking?

Yes - there is street parking outside the premises

 

Are you on or near a bus route or will I need a taxi?

The nearest bus stop is a 10 minutes walk away – bus 303/304 Scapegoat hill bus from Huddersfield town centre

 

When are your sessions available?

I offer weekday, daytime and evening appointments.

Do you counsel teenagers and young people?

I work with 16-18 year olds and would normally talk to a parent/carer on the first session.

Can I bring someone else with me to counselling sessions?

Occasionally people feel that they may need support in the first session. However after that I would always need to see someone on a one to one basis -
There is no waiting area but there is a coffee shop nearby!
